EXPERIENCE

Mr. Greer has over 25 years of experience representing clients in the state and federal courts in California. He has extensive experience in insurance litigation, including complex cases concerning coverage for general liability, first party property, Environmental, Directors and Officers, and Errors and Omissions coverages. He has also litigated numerous business and professional liability actions.

The American Bar Association; State Bar of California; Los Angeles County Bar Association. Mr. Greer is licensed to practice before all California state courts, and is admitted to practice in the federal district courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

PUBLICATIONS

In addition to litigation, Mr. Greer advises clients on wide range of coverage issues, including general liability, property and professional liability claims. He has drafted policies for a major medical malpractice insurer, and worked closely with General Counsel to develop effective claims handling procedures. He has frequently represented clients in the state and federal appellate courts, and has drafted numerous writ petitions and appellate briefs. Significant decisions include National American Ins. Co. v. Century Surety Co. (2004) 2004 Cal. App. LEXIS 10954; Best Products, Inc. v. Superior Court (2004) 119 Cal. App. 4th 1181. Mr. Greer is skilled in alternative dispute resolution, and has served as a mediator for the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Recent Achievements include:
• Obtaining summary judgment for insurer in $134 million bad faith action in the Federal District Court for the Western District of Washington;
• Prevailing on Motion to Dismiss, without leave to amend, in $6 million Bad Faith lawsuit in the Federal District Court for the Southern District of California.
