In Memoriam
A web site dedicated to the staff and practice areas of Berman, Berman, Berman, Schneider & Lowary, LLP (B3SL) is not complete without the mention of our founder, the late Ronald S. Berman.
Mr. Berman passed away on January 10, 2022, at the age of 83. With a background in insurance and professional liability, Mr. Berman laid the foundation for the firm in 1980. Over the years, that foundation expanded to include other areas of the law, including business law and corporate liability defense. Today, as you’ll find on these pages, the current focus of the firm – based in Los Angeles with some 30 attorneys and additional offices in San Diego, Riverside, and Sacramento – also includes representation of insurers and their insureds, coverage-related matters, and quality litigation management.
Mr. Berman’s insights and expertise will be sorely missed. He enjoyed an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell and served for nine years as the original and Founding General Counsel of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS). He served in a similar capacity for the Association of California Insurance Adjusters and was an associate member of the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Legal Malpractice. He also served as President of the Los Angeles Chapter of the California Association of Claims and Litigation Alliance and as a member of the Executive Committee of the California State Bar Section on Law Practice Management and Technology.
Mr. Berman took extreme pride in B3SL, and we are grateful for his commitment to ensuring the firm’s ongoing success in his absence.
