EXPERIENCE
Mr. Shimizu joined the firm’s Sacramento office in 2022. His areas of practice include general liability and civil litigation defense.
While in law school, Mr. Shimizu clerked at the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office – there he frequently appeared in-court prosecuting a variety of misdemeanor and felony cases. As a member of the UC Hastings trial team, he achieved success as a regional mock-trial champion and even competed in several national competitions. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Shimizu spent several years as a middle school teacher, instructing students in the subjects of literature and vocabulary.
Born in the U.S. Territory of Guam, Mr. Shimizu spent most of his life there before relocating to California for his undergraduate studies. Outside of the office, Mr. Shimizu is very active in his local parish – serving as a cantor and organ accompanist. When not practicing law, you can find him enjoying time with his family.
